MULU

Mulu is world renowned for its unique landscapes, huge caves and its limestone pinnacels as well as its species-rich equatorial forest. Mulu is home to home to one of the longest networks of caves in the world, the Mulu Caves. Here lies the world's largest underground chamber, the Sarawak Chamber, capable of accommodating forty Boeing 747 airplanes.

In Mulu, you will also find the world's biggest cave passage, Deer Cave, which can fit five cathedrals the size of Saint Paul's in London. Another key attraction is Clear Water Cave, the longest cave in Southeast Asia. The massive caves here are home to millions of bats and cave swiftlets that swarm out into the jungle in great clouds every evening at dusk.

Things to Do:

Hike up to the Pinnacles where a 2.4km trail leads to a series of limestone razors that mystically jut out half way up Mount Api.
Appreciate nature's masterpiece of gorgeous formations that adorn the walls of Lang's cave.
The longest known underground river in South East Asia at 'Clearwater' cave is a must-see attraction.
Make a short day trip to the 'Deer' cave - the single largest cave passage known to man and home to millions of free tailed naked bats.
Take the Mulu longest tree-based walkway in the world to discover the dense forest of Mulu, 15-25 metres above the forest floor.
